Electrical stimulation is more effective than sound or other methods. Some anti-barking products on the market produce sound which is intended to distract dogs from barking.  This works temporarily on some dogs, but once the dog becomes used to the sound, these products stop being effective.  On some dogs with a strong desire to bark, they don’t work at all.
